I'm trying to do a hyperlink (when click on a text/button), it loads in a .swf into a designated area in the same page. Is that possible ?? and i'm not using frames.

You need an iframe or something that you can assign an ID or name to so that the target for the file knows where to go.

thanks. iframe, i'll do some research on it.
How about if i just hyperlink a swf as a pop up (not in a browser) ?? Meaning, if i click on a link, it loads a swf(flash movie) in a flash player.

I tried hyperlink to a swf file but it does not launch the Flash Player, instead it just loads the swf to a browser. I've tried to play around with the target frame but every option i selected, seems to load it to a browser. How can i make the hyperlink swf to play on a Flash Player ?? Cheers

You cannot, as you are assuming that everyone has the flash player on their system which is not the case which is why it is loading in a browser since a swf file is a standard browser format these days.
Use a behaviour and create a popup window at the sizes and nav options you want and leave it at that.
