HI,

I am using Dreamweaver MX. I have eight audio message files on my site. Currently, these are simple hyperlinks. A visitor selects the hyperlink and their media player plays that selected file. Instead, I want to embed an audio player file which should appear at the bottom of the page for either of the selected audio files but I am not quite sure how to go about doing it for several files.

I highlight the hyperlink text, select Insert => Media =>Plugin +> browse to the mp3 file and select OK. A placeholder is inserted. When I tested it, of course, the player opens in a new window.

I tried using this html code too:
<embed src="shout.mp3" width="360" height="165" />
(This one opens the viewer next to the hyperlink)

How do you embed the audio viewer to: Open at the bottom of the current page for each of the selected files?

Actually, I had not considered adding a flash player to our site until you mentioned it. This will certainly meet our needs. I searched and found a couple of them... unfortunately, the visited sites were light on explaining how to add them to a site (what's needed, and etc...)

Can you recommend a simple flash player for an organization that's on a budget?

Concerning the flash player on your site.... where are the controls? How do visitors pause, stop, rewind or fast forward a selected audio file?

Go to http://www.flashkit.com ('http://www.flashkit.com') awesome site.
As for my tracks.. you don't. If people visit my site (labels in particular) pausing etc is not needed as they just want to hear my stuff and nothing more.

OK I visited flasykit. The site is very busy, lots of flash images. Is there some place in particular that deals with Flash Players? I searched for this topic but seemed to have everything except what I am looking for.

here ya go.
http://www.flashkit.com/tutorials/Audio/ ('http://www.flashkit.com/tutorials/Audio/')
Flashkit is a huge and for a new commer, very over whelming site. Just look at the menus closely and you will find what you are looking for.
It took me ages to get to grips with the site, but now I have I am hooked on the place.
Excellent tuts and resources there for any new flash creator.

Creative Insanity,

Well, the flash tutorial on how to make the exact flash player that is posted on your site was found at
http://www.thegoldenmean.com/technique/mp3player01.html ('http://www.thegoldenmean.com/technique/mp3player01.html').

And, I located the tutorial on the FlaskKit site but I need Flash in order to complete the tutorial, which I do not have, so I will stick with what I currently have. Thanks anyway.

Umm.. yeah.. to create a flash document you do need to actually own Flash.
No matter, shame.
Ok so let's remember a few things here about embedded sounds.
If a person has quicktime installed and configured for the internet, when a person using FF wants to hear your sound it is going to OPEN another browser and stream your sound file in quicktime. Just thought you should be aware of that.
