The file name and path must be a single word. Also no !@#$% etc as these are what is ment by special chars.. you can have an underscore _ though.

Paste the file and path name you are using.

it could be a corrupt flash install effecting the import module. Try importing a different movie file. If its errors again try re-installing flash. If its just that one movie that is chucking errors then its the movie (corrupt headers maybe)

Just thought of something else.
Are you trying to import the .fla file or the .swf file?
You should be importing the .swf file.

video.swf is the extension shown when inserting video

Ok let's do a tut ah. ;)

Ok as you can see here I have a document with a table and a few rows.
I am going to place the flash file where you see the cursor.

Then we select Media from the Insert menu and select Flash (the top one)

Now navigate to where you have the flash file and make sure it is in the site itself, and if not copy it to the site when DW asks if you want to. Press ok.

This diolog can be either filled in or you can just press cancel (I always press cancel).

Now you flash file is inserted into the location you select by placing the cursor at the start.

Hope this helps.

you are inserting the raw flash file that only flash can read. You need to open the FLA file in flash and publish it from your file menu. When you publish it you will produce your SWF file. It is this file that you use in your web site video.swf

Just click on the file menu and select export movie. This will create the swf file.

I have always done it with export.
Hey dj, have you ever worked with sonified sites?
Great for producers to promote them tracks without having to change any of the flash, or such of the page code to add new tracks.
I am making one for CA.
