hey everyone,

i'm a newbie. i'm trying to make a Div layer visible. basically i have my background color set with a specific color, then i want to put a div layer over it with the dimensions of 800px x 535px with a different background color. then place my images "on top" of that div with a different color than the bgcolor.

Now it looks right in dreamweaver MX's design layout, but when i go to view it in a browser the div layer isnt there. all my imags are there and where i want them, and the background of the whole page is right, but no div between the background and the images.

any ideas? i have all the div properties set to visible...what else can i do? i put some txt in there as a "place holder", when i go view that in a browser the txt is there but no Div layer with bgcolor.

what the heck?

thanks,
dave!

Not hard with good old css :)

I made a file and in the body I had

<body bgcolor="#CCCCCC">
<div class="newc">test tes tes tetsts</div>
</body>

This was connected to a css file which controled the size and bg colour of the div.

.newc {
height: 200px;
width: 300px;
background-color:#CCFFCC;
}

Hope this helps.
