Hello all,

I have been working with Dreamweaver for about a month. I designed a template in photoshop and is now working with it in DW. what is hapening is the text was placed over the template using div tags..... It looks lovely when the browser is fully opened but when the browser is reduced the text does not move it looks horrible..... I've tried it in both IE and netscape browsers and have the same outcome. Any help would be great.

Is there any reason you used divs and not a table?

Have a read of this ('http://www.dreamweaverclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1372&st=0&#entry4899'), it may help.

Well I would say that the reason that i did not use tables is because I never used them before.... I read the article and is working on what g said I still have to figure out how things work though........ Thanks for the link

After reading the article I can see that what's talked about is resizing the entire page..... My page resizes however the text on the page does not move..... I'm not up on how to use tables and I thank you for putting up with the "newbie" questions... If I misunderstood the article could you break it down for me?

i have checked out your site and the basic table layout is as follows

paste into the body of your document

<table width="100%" height="278" border="0">
<tr>
<td align="center" valign="middle">content</td>
<td align="center" valign="middle">content</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td align="center" valign="middle">content</td>
<td align="center" valign="middle">content</td>
</tr>
</table>

Is there any specific place in the body I should paste this? when I placed it in the body tag this is what happened.

That page is so messed up.
Now if you make your template slices in Photoshop for the sections of your template. IE: header, nav bar, content panels, footer etc and then use ImageReady to save that as a html file with the images and it will create the table for you and place everything to the correct location.
Now in DW where you want to add text to your template just make the graphic in that part of the template a bg image and you can type your text on the bg image.

I will do you a VTM (video training module). I hope you have quicktime installed.. if not go to http://www/apple.com/quicktime ('http://www/apple.com/quicktime') and install their player as the VTM will be in quicktime format.

Just encoding now. It will take a few minutes.
Dam forget quicktime! 169mb for an 8 minute movie. That is WAY to big.
Have you got Xvid?
Those files are way smaller than that.

Ok this was better Xvid took the page from 169Mb to 7mb.

and here it is ('http://www.webthings.org/ci/help2.avi')
Once you have downloaded it and installed Xvid just double click on the avi file and it will load into your default player.
