Since none this is a third party program, I would ask the developers for support on it.
You link doesn't work either.

Plug-ins are designed to be used inside Photoshop.
Move the downloaded unzipped file to x:/photoshop/plugins
Then open photoshop , open your file you want to convert to an ico file.
Then from plugins menu run the plugin you downloaded.

there are other apps that you can use other than photoshop plugins

Icon tools ('http://www.snapfiles.com/Freeware/gmm/fwicontools.html')

Dear Mike / David
I followed your instructions :
I moved the unzipped file to the Photoshop folder, and found "plug ins".
not 100% about which dialogue box to place it in. Tried Import / Export.

now im not sure where to find the plug in, in Photoshop.
the plug-in module is not apppearing as an option in Import / Export or in "About Plug-ins".

is there somewhere else i should be checking for the plug in ?

thanks in advance for your help.

Try under filters.

What is the name of the plug-in?

It should be something like programname.8be (note the .8be extension)
It could also be .8ba, .8bx, .8li, or .8be

.8bf files are straight plugins
.8be are import/export files
.8li are "automate" files
.8ba are executable plugins

Hi
the name of the file is icoformat.8bi

favicon page ('http://www.telegraphics.com.au/sw/')

explains that i should be able to simply save my file, under Save As, and see a ICO / Windows Icon format available. i dont !

rinser, if you read the txt file you would of seen that it says that you copy the file to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS2\Plug-Ins\File Formats

And it works a treat.. see below.

That does not matter as the text file also says:
Tested with:
- Photoshop 3.0-7.0 & CS on PowerPC Macintosh (OS X, OS 9 and Classic)
- Photoshop 4.0 / MacOS 8.0 on 68K Macintosh
- Photoshop 5.0 on Windows 98/NT and XP.

I also tried it on (yeah I installed them just to try for you) 5, 6, 7, cs1 and cs2

HEy CI, dont all those versions of photshop take up a hella lot of space on your puter? (or that was very kind of you to install & uninstall older versions)
bo selectA!

ps to rinser, there are better kinds webpages online that can make your fav icon for you. instant jpeg/gif/bmp to .ico
