Re: DW / Forms / IIS / Web Server Extensions
Hey there, i have created a form which will not work. I continue to get the error "Page not found HTTP 404" The error suggest that I lok at the help file in IIS.

IIS's help file suggests that I need to go to the IIS Manager and click on to the Web Service Extensions file to Enable Web service extensions.

This file " Web Service Extensions dose not exist ther. Can anyone suggest why or what I need to do to have it showing? Is there something that I need to set up in IIS for this to show.

I have included the link here.

Why are you using IIS? Are you planning on doing ASP?
If not change to apache... way better and more in tune with what over 90% of hosters these days are using.

1. Are you trying to run ths from a server on your own computer, or an actual hosting service?
2. The MS page you referred to is for IIS 6 which you won't have on your computer unless you are running Server 2003. Search MS for IIS 5, this is what comes with XP Pro.
3. Your form will not work unless it is served up by a server either on your machine or at a hosting service.
4. If on a hosting service make sure it is a Windows service, not Linux service.
5. If on your own computer, make sure you have installed the server correctly.
test it by typing in ('') in your web browser. If a page opens up, your server is installed and running and you can then install server extensions from there.
If you get an error of page not found, then the server is not installed correctly or is not running.
