this place is sooo awesome and you guys have helped me greatly, i had a mac user say that the bg for my http://www.solemnhollow.com ('http://www.solemnhollow.com') site isn't coming up. he also said that some site look weird through mac...he's using IE so i was wondering if there was something i should be cognacent of about mac users...any settings?

Unless you BG is white I cannot see a BG in FF either.

yes it comes up fine on IE 6. i don't know why it wouldn't come up on other browsers though... hmm

Ok problem solved. The script you are using will only work in IE 5.5 and above.

ok well that explains it...hmm what is the best way to handle it? just add a text to the splash saying IE 5.5+ recommended.

Personaly I would redo it so the script is not needed as you are cutting out a heap of viewers as there are HEAPS out there that do not use IE of any version.

I am guessing that you at least use IE to test in?

While it is true that if you write for standards, you shouldn't have to look at a specific browser, I always look at a project in 3-4 browsers just for a sanity check.

No I don't actually. If it works in FF then I know it will work in IE.
The only time I do check in IE is if there is coloured scrollbars.. other than that, no.
