View Full Version : setting table positon within another table

09-23-2005, 09:25 AM

I have a table containing graphic slices within another table, the outer container also contains gfx slices. The outer table has a column on the left which is 4 pxls wider than the column on the right (to enable the use of dropshadow), consequently the centre table is 4 pxls off-centre horizontally.

My question is this, can I set the position of the inner table using x and y coordinates within a tag rather than using 'left align', 'right align', 'centre' etc

Thanks as always

Hi David,

please turn off pop ups before opening (a pop up page is currently set to 'on click' linked to a graphic but also pops up on loading for some reason, but thats another matter :))

use a 1x1 pixel spacer gif then define the 4 px you want using the width attribute of the spacer

thanks david, presumably you mean puttin the spacer to the right of the inner table to push the table to the left, will this not push the right side graphic of the outer box outwards instead of the inner table inwards?

this is getting confusing !!!

Im not sure of the outcome but you cant align using x,y coords
