View Full Version : Form Mail

I created a form and I want the contents emailed when visitors click the submit button on a not for profit site. The form can be found at http://www.pbc5star.org/prayer/prayerform/prayerform.html ('http://www.pbc5star.org/prayer/prayerform/prayerform.html').

Two things: I am not receiving the emails. 2) I get http error 405 Resource Error after clicking the submit button but if I select F5 or refresh in the browser the page opens. Here's what I did:

On Matt's FormMail cgi script, using MS Edit, I changed lines 33 and 39 on the FormMail.pl file to:

$mailprog = '/usr/sbin/sendmail -i -t';
@referers = ('pbc5star.com','www.pbc5star.org');. I used Edit. Line 33

The file was uploaded to my powweb's cgi-bin folder and permissions were changed to 755.
On my form submission page, I added:
<form method="post" action="http://www.pbc5star.org/cgi-bin/FormMail.pl"></form>
<input type=hidden name="recipient" value="pbc1212121@pbc5star.org"

For some reason this thing does not work! And, I tried without the Action= "http://www.pbc5star.org", with just "/cgi-bin" and etc.. and it still does not work. I have spent a lot ot time on this, including reading tips from others that have got it to work. What am I doing wrong? I've restarted the whole process three times.

Have you tried renaming the script "formmail.cgi"
Some servers do not accept .pl as an acceptable extension
