Hello all hope you had a great week. I am needing assistance with Dreamweaver populating an Access database. Please know that I have read thru the MX 2004 Bible, I have looked thru this forum and done many searches on Google and still can not figure this out.

I would like to create a form that will allow me to have a couple of pulled down menus that are getting there info from a database. I think I have that correct at this time my problem is that I would also like to have a couple of text boxes i.e.: Name and Suggestions boxes that will populate a tables in an Access database. Has anyone seen any tutorials on line or would be willing to share there DW Jedi skills with me?

I am using Dreamweaver MX 2004, MS Access, IIS, and the page is .asp

Thank for you time.

Ralph

you need to create a recordset for your dropdowns

Application panel > bindings > recordset (query)

(advanced mode)

give your recordset a name

choose a connection

write some SQL [ select * from [table name] where [field1 = 'variable'] and [field2 = 'variable']

hit the test button

if you get results you are on the right path

if you get this far or have already done this bit please post back

if you already have a dynamic dropdown working then the rest should be easy

just add an update database page to your site. Its a wizard and will guide you as you make your choices

I think its located in Server Behaviours
