View Full Version : Java or other?

I need some help. I've been using Dreamweaver for a while, but never to any great extent ..... now I have an actual project B) and I'm stuck.
I need a button that will copy text from a number (approx 5 for the moment) of multiline text fields and paste them into another page (ideally another text area) for review/editing by the user.

I believe that I may have to use some Java code. The problem is that I have never done any Java coding in my life.

Can anyone suggest where I might be able to get a piece of code that would work, or suggest any other way of completing this task?
- names anchors or something similar.

I am restricted to HTML and Java (thanks to the restrictions that work has given me) :wacko:

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks :ph34r:

is this what you want

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
<title>Untitled Document</title>

<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
function copytext(){

document.getElementById('textfield2').value = document.getElementById('textfield1').value;

<form id="form1" name="form1" method="post" action="">
<textarea name="textfield1" id="textfield1"></textarea>
<textarea name="textfield2" id="textfield2"></textarea>
<input type="button" name="Button" value="Button" onclick="copytext()"/>

I hope they specified Javascript for you and not Java. Their syntax *might* be similar, but they're different languages. What you want to use is javascript :)
