I am new to the use of any Dreamweaver product but I am currently trying to learn Dreamweaver 4. I created a website for a friend but I have noticed a few things that are not only bothering me, but other people who visit the site.
1.) The person I built the site for did all his own design elements that I used as backgrounds, but to make the pictures link to another page, I had to basically place an image over an image on the background. So a lot of people are saying that they are seeing double pictures or the pictures kind of "slide into place." My question, can you make a transparent image over the background that you can use to link to a page, instead of having an image overlapping a background image?
2.) Is there way to build a site that looks right to everyone who views it, no matter what resolution they have their computers set to?
3.) Can you make a label that tells you what a picture links to without having to do a rollover image?

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Sincerely

A really lost newbie

P.S.
Here is the addy to the site that I did so you can see the problems I have described. Warning though, site does contain nudity.

Wow. The art on there is really quite good. I mean it's a bit rude and not really to my taste - but it's talented I'd say.

1. Yes, just make a transparent GIF, but this sounds like a very tedious way of making a webpage. Search for some web building tutorials and learn more common ways of creating websites.

2. Absolutely (within reason), this is how most people make their websites :)

3. Yes, the standards compliant way of doing this is adding the attribute TITLE, fort example <img src="photo.jpg" alt="" title="This is a picture of me">

Domedia, thanks for all the help. One more question, how do I make the transparent gif????? Can this be done in Dreamwave or would it have to be done in a program like photoshop?
