View Full Version : Need guidance creating a form

I've spent the last few months learning the intricacies of Dreamweaver, and now wish to add a form to my website. I understand that a form must have a CGI script located on the website's server which it will link to. Unfortunately, my "bargain" web host does not support CGI or PHP so I may look to a service such as FormMail.com to host my CGI script.

This is where I get hazy on how the whole thing works. I've created the perfect form with Dreamweaver, but now what do I do? How do I create a CGI script that will make this form work? Is this something that must be specifically tailored to my form's layout, or is a CGI script something generic that I can get for free anywhere?

So my questions are,

How do I create or find a CGI script?
How do I go about finding a host for this script (sign up with a better host?).

Nicely outlined question Ken... unfortunately I'm not sure of the answer myself!

Give it a bit of time though - I'm sure someone will be along to help you soon.
