View Full Version : Photo Gallery within Template?

I do quite a few websites with the main focus of the website being photo galleries.

I prefer the design of my websites to be a 3 area layout, with a top area for the website's banner/title, a left hand area beneath this for the navigation links, and then a right hand area alongside this for the editable content. I set up this design and save it as a template for each of my websites, and then create each new page on the website based on the template, etc.

What I'm currently trying to figure out is an easy and pain free way of inserting a photo gallery within the editable content part of the template.

The galleries on the website are sometimes full of lots of pictures, and after spending a lot of time resizing them in Photoshop (both for thumbnail and normal size), it then takes me even longer to create a table, insert the thumbnails and then link the thumbnails to the full size image, etc.

Also, when clicking on the thumbnail, the image opens in a new window, as for me to get it to open within the template design would create even more work for me!

Therefore, I'm really hoping there is an easier way of doing a photo gallery within a template???

I really like the way that Photoshop creates photo galleries when you use its automated Web Gallery function, as it creates pages to navigate backwards and forwards through the photos as well as a thumbnail gallery view, but the gallery is created using its own HTML pages, and I'd ideally like to find an automated way of creating this sort of gallery within the editable area of my template.

Hopefully someone can advise me on how I may be able to do this???

Thanks in advance for any help.
