HI
after doing a few half-decent pages with DW i am now deeply embedded with the Flash program.
Does anyone here have an opinion on the merits of Flash for designing pages, or even whole sites ?

Yupp, I have an opinion :)
So does Jacob Nielsen, the famous usability expert which designers have a love/hate relationship to.

I see no reason to use flash unless you need an animated illustration, or some kind of fancy stuff going on. Most websites are meant to make information accessible, and HTML is a great standard for just that. Have you seen any *good* flash websites? If so, which ones are they?

domedia is right...

If at all possible you should shy away from flash as it is not standards-compliant.
If you NEED to use flash, I would suggest that you make a non-flash version too and allow users to select which one they would like to view... or can view.
