Hallo all.
I made a website that is not on the net yet. I have to make a few changes before I put it on. The main problem is that i need image description when I place the mouse over the picture but i do not know how to do it. I tried with roll over images, swap images and few other stuff but nothing seemed to work out.
I hope someone will help me with this becouse i am running out of time.
Thank you.

<img src="http://www.mysite.com/myimage.jpg" alt="My logo image" width="210" height="120" />

alt="whatever" is your image description

My take, adding another attribute :)
<img src="http://www.mysite.com/myimage.jpg" alt="Description of image for browsers without image support" title="Description of image that pops up when moused over" width="210" height="120" />

Thank you both for your help. I tried it and it works, but it is not exactly what i had on mind. Alternate text dissapears after few moments and it is not moveable. Also i saw on some sites that there is a little hand instead of an arrow. I think the thing is called <span style='color:red'>TOOLTIP</span>. Do you know anything about it, where can i find it for free or if you know how to make it yourself.
POZDRAV!(from Bosnia).

Yes both gmcrones and my suggestion is also called tooltip. Tooltip is when something spops up from your mouse pointer (or any other icon used for your pointer, like a hand for links).

Another thing you can do is show/hide a leyer based on mouseover. Pretty easy to implement. Most Layer tutorials covers this easy technique.

Hi there VladeDivac,

Nice to meet you.

Can you please post a link to a page that has the thing on that you want to try and do?

Jim Shady.

Hi Jim Shady. Nice to meet you too. The link is www.panda.org. At the top of the page you will see green image that has this effect. When you put mouse over the image there is baloon whit text that follows the hand while you move it over image. That is all, hope you have a solution. Now i will try domedias suggestion whit show/hide layers.

On the page you are talking about, they have created a custom javascript they call tooltips to get the effect you want.
