Hya,
Its not fool proof but go to read up on the subject by all means..

http://www.dwfaq.com/Tutorials/Miscellaneo...protection1.asp ('http://www.dwfaq.com/Tutorials/Miscellaneous/copyright_protection1.asp')

Once a user looks at your pages it ends up in the cache anyway. also many progs out there to steal what they want but don't be discouraged take a look at the link, who knows one thing leads to another.

Good luck!

Yes, usually this limits the usability of the website and makes the user irritated. Not recommended. And like Kate said, if you want people to see it, it has to be downloaded. If you don't want people to se it, put it in a safety deposit box ;).

I've made websites for professional photographers and artists, and we always end up putting a watermark on the image if we're worried about copying.

Try this code but not sure if it will work in DW but it should logically.

My thanks to willem at www.DesignsXchange.com please credit back to Willem if you use it - a text link will be fine.

what it does is checking the url, if it's not the right one it unloads the movie. So if somebody want to use your swf it will not play from his site

onFrame (1) {
if (_root._url.indexOf("www.swishmagic.com") == -1) {
unloadMovieNum(0);
gotoSceneAndStop("<current scene>",1);
}
}

But we work mainly in Swish so I don't know I never tried it as I have no personal web site as such. you can learn a lot of things at designsxchnage not just coding and Swish but lots of other things going on there.

nice code kate :)
However, it's actionscript, and will only work from within a SWF (flash) movie. Jpg's and gif's don't have the same capabilities. But I guess you *could* make all your images flash ;) that would actually work with the actionscript given.

nice code kate
Yes Willem is the Swish guru at his board I think the world of him, he is soo kind its unreal domedia and nothing is too much trouble for him.

I did say I was'nt sure about that code but thought I would add it. I myself - someday will use the code..lmaooo if I ever get time. Swish is cheaper than Flash by miles, its also much easier to learn.

:lol: :lol:
