ok ive just made myself a new template with adobe imageready for the first time, and i have a square open space in a table cell surrounded by other images in a table. im using the square area as my place to put text and if i put in more text than the area which the square holds, my template gets white gaps in it and it looks ugly.

So... what im getting at here is: is there a way to make one cell in a table scrollable, or are there any alternative solutions to my problem?

Have a play around with this:

<html>
<head>
<title>table with scroll</title>
<style type="text/css">
<!--
DIV{
text-align : left;
padding : 5px;
width : 100%;
height : 4em;
overflow: auto;
}
-->
</style>
</head>
<body>
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="1">
<thead>
<tr>
<th>stuff in the thead</th>
</tr>
</thead>
<tfoot>
<tr>
<th>stuff in the tfoot</th>
</tr>
</tfoot>
<tbody>
<tr>
<td>
<div>scroll stuff in the tbody

scroll stuff in the tbody

scroll stuff in the tbody

scroll stuff in the tbody

scroll stuff in the tbody

scroll stuff in the tbody

scroll stuff in the tbody

scroll stuff in the tbody

scroll stuff in the tbody

scroll stuff in the tbody

scroll stuff in the tbody

</div>
</td>
</tr>
</tbody>
</table>
</body>
</html>

It might not help but it might do?!

Hey EastCoast,

I am having the same problem with the site I am creating.

As long as I keep the text under a certain amount in the editable region of my template the template hold together fine, if not, it gets ripped in two.

This is very frustrating, is there any way to create a scroll bar inside the layout cell?

Thanks,
Jarred

Have you tried the code that I posted above mate?

It's not perfect by any means - but it will show you what you can do and hopefully you can build on it.
