Hi there,

I am fairly new to the whole database thing so bare with me. I am trying to connect to a mysql database through Dreamweaver and keep getting the following error message:

HTTP error Code 404 File Not Found . Here are some possible reasons for the problem:

1) there is no testing server running on the machine
2) the testing server specified for this site does not map to the
http://ftp.extremedsl.com.au/public_html/_...ts?MMHTTPDB.php ('http://ftp.extremedsl.com.au/public_html/_mmServerScripts?MMHTTPDB.php') URL. Verify that the URL Prefix maps to the root of the site.

Can anyone help me with this? I have spent hours on it so far..

Fiz

As the message states, you must have a testing server set up before Dreamweaver can access your active content (database in this case). Do you have it set up, and if so, what parameters did you specify?

You set up the testing server by going to the Define Sites dialog and clicking Testing Server in the list in the left column. You can set up your remote host to also be the testing server, or if you have a server with MySQL on your local machine, you can set it up as localhost.

If you don't want to get involved with a testing server, you can do your testing by simply going to your site with a browser.

If you do have a testing server set up, we would need more information to help determine where the problem is. I use my local machine as my testing server, so I may not be much help if you use a remote server.
