View Full Version : Status bar text - Image maps

Hi All,

Just subscribed to this group. I have a problem with applying Status Bar Text to 'hot spots' on image maps using DW MX2004 (v7.0.1). When I apply the Behaviour as 'onmouseover', it applies 'onmouseout'. If I apply 'onmouseout' it still appears to be 'onmouseout'. I can't get the status bar text to come up correctly when the mouse is over the hotspot. I have successfully applied this Behavior to CSS navigation bars and image buttons, but for some reason, it does not want to work with image maps.

Is this a known bug, or am I missing something?

Any help would be gratefully received.

Kind regards,

Jim :( .

Oh, BTW I have done a test site at Problem test ('http://homepage.ntlworld.com/j.offord/'). This shows the problem, an onmouseout action when the code shows onmouseover. Regards, Jim O.

I think this is how DW works by default. I have not tried this myself, as I always leave the Status Bar alone. But try this extension and see if it wont help you http://dazdezines.com/mme/extensions/set_t..._status_bar.htm ('http://dazdezines.com/mme/extensions/set_text_of_status_bar.htm')

Hmm, Thanks for the response Domedia, the problem with this is that the extension just uses the existing coding, and gives you a fancy box to input your text. The more I think about it, the more I believe it may be a problem with IE 6 not interpereting the code correctly. It is still funny though that it works fine with image buttons and the like.
